A publication from Megan Kelly, writing in Mind Body Green…She is a Licensed Esthetician specializing in holistic nutrition, woman’s hormones, and natural beauty:-

Once a woman gets pregnant, she’s typically more aware than ever of what she is putting both in and on her body. But what about when trying to get pregnant?

It takes nearly a hundred days for a woman’s egg to mature before it’s ovulated and seventy-two days for a man’s sperm to form. This means that a three-month period of optimal nutrition for a couple will produce the healthiest possible egg and sperm and that it’s important to be conscious of good nutrition even before you conceive.

While preparing your body for pregnancy, you want to focus on nutrient dense foods. This means loading up your diet with fresh fruits, vegetables, leafy greens, clean nutrient dense proteins, essential fatty acids and healing herbs.

Preconception preparation could be something like this:

1. Fermented Cod Liver Oil/ Butter Oil Blend

Provides fat soluble vitamins A, E, D, K2, EPA, DHA, and Omega-3 fatty acid. These are essential nutrients for a healthy baby, healthy hormones, and healthy skin.

2. Raw Prenatal Vitamin

Make sure these are made from whole foods, not synthetic vitamins. This will ensure you are getting all of your necessary vitamins and minerals, especially B vitamins, magnesium and folate. Make sure the Folate is in the form of Metafolate not folic acid so your body can use and absorb this important nutrient.

3. Probiotic

Your healthy gut flora determines your babies immune system, a good probiotic will help with digestion, and create a healthy inner ecosystem for a baby to thrive in. (Fernandez L, Langa S, Martin V, Maldonado A, Jimenez E, et al. (2013)), ( The human milk microbiota: origin and potential roles in health and disease. Pharmacol Res 69: 1–10)

4. Herbal Tea Blends

Red Raspberry Leaf is an all-around excellent herb to use for pregnancy. It is a uterine tonic, anti-abortive, and helps prevent infection.

Are There Any Benefits In Taking Vitamin E For Infertility?

If there are approximately 6.1 million people in the U.S. experiencing infertility, try and imagine how many couples are affected by this issue world wide.

Infertility‘ is defined as not conceiving for at least 12 months.

Increasing Your Intake of Vitamin E For Pregnancy

Of course we know that the reasons for this can be many and varied depending on the women’s body, but the good news is that certain nutrients can increase the chances while trying to conceive for some people, with Vitamin E being one type of nutrient.

It is a good time now to remind you to seek advice from your Dr or Gynecologist before self administering anything to your body, especially while trying to conceive.

Here is a small list of food items which contain vitamin E and maybe helpful to add to your diet:- wheat germ, sunflower seeds, almonds, hazelnuts, peanut butter, spinach, kiwi and mangoes.

Fruit and nuts

There is a warning here about taking an excess of vitamin E in supplement form as it many cause bleeding, as it is advisable for no more than 1,000 milligrams per day for a healthy adult.

By taking vitamin E before undergoing any fertility treatments may help to boost the success rate of pregnancy, and also prevent ovulation decline, which is a cause of older women not becoming pregnant, and the vitamin helps to keep the placenta healthy which is vitally essential for pregnancy.

How Can Vitamin E Help With Infertility?

fruit and nuts

It is an antioxidant which helps to defend your cells from the free radicals which like to run around in our bodies, and even though we perhaps do not understand about ‘free radicals’ we have certainly read or heard enough about them by now to know that they are enemies in our bodies as they damage the cells and make your body susceptible to attracting other health problems.

While a vitamin E deficiency in a male can also be an issue with infertility –  causing interference with normal reproductive functions, which may be a further problem to becoming pregnant, as it may also hamper normal hormonal secretion which is needed for a baby to be conceived, as well as sperm quality and motility.

A healthy adult would need about 15 milligrams per day to overcome these issues.

Vitamin E mediates cell signaling and regulation of gene expression.

Cell signaling is part of a complex system of communication that governs basic cellular activities and coordinates cell actions …. you can read more about this subject here.

Male Infertility in Today’s World!

Research to date on male infertility has been small, largely concentrated on “women’s problems”… Says PAULA MEE reporting in the Irish Times, however, with more and more couples experiencing infertility, there’s a growing interest in getting the male body into shape for conception too.

It is estimated that male issues are involved in almost one-third of infertility cases. Going through infertility testing and treatment programmes is not easy. Couples need helpful strategies to see them through the physical, emotional and monetary demands that can sometimes rock their relationship to its core.

Semen quality is on the decline, and has been for decades. Problems include structural abnormalities and diminished sperm production and motility. Physiology, genetics,  hormone imbalances, environmental toxins, diet and lifestyle have been identified as factors that have an impact on sperm quality.

Click this link now to purchase an amazing book:- “PREGNANCY MIRACLE” http://56eaf9pkug35mq9iu9odjh0x7e.hop.clickbank.net

Nowadays men are more likely to be invited to attend a preconception consultation on nutrition, along with the mum-to-be, as a man’s weight is one of the most important factors affecting his fertility – being either underweight or overweight is linked with poor semen quality.

Studies show that men with a body mass index (BMI) over 35 have lower sperm

counts and more DNA damage than men of normal weight while overweight men tend to have lower testosterone and higher oestrogen levels, which have a negative impact on sperm production. Sleep apnoea, which is common in overweight men, is also linked to a fall in testosterone levels. Excess fat accumulation increases the buildmother & baby-up of toxic substances in fatty tissue and raises scrotal temperature.

Achieving a healthy BMI should be high on the priority list, as well as giving up smoking and avoiding second-hand smoke. Smoking can damage sperm, lowering count and motility and studies also verify that pesticides, heavy metals and exogenous oestrogens, possibly found in water, decrease sperm production.

Two recent studies found that exposure to endocrine disrupters such as phthalates in plastic packaging and bisphenol A in tinned food may reduce fertility in men so more research is necessary but the advice is to limit exposure to these compounds in the meantime.

Alcohol consumption and stress are two weight-related lifestyle factors that influence fertility in men who drink alcohol excessively may jeopardise implantation and conception as alcohol can be found in the semen comparatively quickly after drinking and alcohol leads to free radical damage and so the advice is that both men and women should avoid or strictly limit alcohol while trying to conceive.

Foods to Help with Infertility

Certain micronutrients can boost your chances of fertility, stress management is important too, with work pressures and overscheduling an issue for many. Stress may also have an adverse effect on cholesterol levels.

A recent study in the Endocrine Society’s Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism found that if either one or both partners in a couple had high LDL, or bad cholesterol, it took them considerably longer to get pregnant. One of the researchers concluded that, in addition to raising the risk of cardiovascular disease, the findings suggest cholesterol may contribute to infertility and not surprisingly, many men never have their cholesterol checked!!!

Many studies have linked certain micronutrients such as selenium, zinc, vitamins C and E and folic acid to sperm quality. These nutrients are essential for better health and disease reduction. It appears that the beneficial nutrients recommended for conception are the same ones you need to keep healthy and alive to watch your children grow and start their own families.

The best way to get this diversity of nutrients is to eat well, focusing on seafood, lean animal and plant proteins such as nuts and seeds, wholegrains, antioxidant-rich fruits and vegetables, and essential polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats. Supplementation may be necessary on the advice of your doctor or dietitian.

Righting the Balance with Male Infertility

Getting the balance right leaves little room for the not-so-fertility-friendly fats, such as saturated and trans fats. These are found in fried foods, processed meats and refined and processed foods such as biscuits, cakes and pastries. An excess of these fats may decrease the membrane fluidity and flexibility necessary for healthy sperm motility. Diets poor in omega 3 and rich in omega 6 may also contribute to poor semen quality and sperm function. Walnuts are very rich in omega 3, as well as vitamin E, zinc, selenium and folate.

Our diets have transformed radically in the past 60 years. Last month researchers from the Harvard School of Public Health in Boston linked a high intake of sugar-sweetened beverages with lower sperm motility in healthy young men.

This builds on the evidence from the Rochester Young Men’s study which found that men who followed a “prudent” diet with high intakes of fish, chicken, whole-grains, fruits and vegetables had better semen quality and motility than those who followed the more typical “western” pattern of refined grains, pizza, high-energy drinks and high intakes of red and processed meats and sweets, while researchers found that women undergoing fertility treatment who ate a diet similar to the traditional Mediterranean diet were 40 per cent more likely to become pregnant than those who had the least Mediterranean-like diets. The effects of this pattern of eating would be useful to study in males too.

Antioxidant-rich foods from Eating Expectantly, Fueling Your Fertility include: Fruits: blackberries, redcurrants, raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, oranges, pineapple, plums and pomegranates

Vegetables: spinach, chili peppers, black and green olives, mushrooms, food1asparagus, arugula, radicchio, beets, broccoli, artichokes and red peppers

Spices: clove, allspice, mint, sage, thyme, nutmeg, rosemary, saffron, tarragon, oregano, ginger, cinnamon, natural cocoa

Beverages: pomegranate, grape, prune, and cranberry juices. (Espresso, coffee, and green and black teas also contain antioxidants but should be consumed in moderation.)

Nuts, seeds, and grains: walnuts, pecans, sunflower seeds, chestnuts, peanuts, pistachios, buckwheat, millet and barley

Follow this advice and maybe male infertility will be a thing of the past for you

Can’t Perform In Bed? There Are Always Answers!!

Hundreds to thousands of endocrine-disrupting chemicals found in toothpaste, soap and plastic toys could be behind drop in male fertility, as revealed from a German- Danish team of researchers from the Center of Advanced European Studies and Research. For the first time, they showed a direct link between exposure to endocrine disrupting chemicals from industrial products and adverse effects on human sperm function.

Blame your infertility on toothpastes and soaps.

The Importance Of Having Healthy Sperm

The scientists looked at the impact of these chemicals on the CatSperion channel, a calcium channel that controlled sperm motility, it showed that when endocrine disruptors were applied at concentrations measured in body fluids, it directly opened CatSper and, thereby, increased the calcium levels in sperm, changed their swimming behavior, and triggered the release of digestive enzymes that helped the sperm to break through the egg coat.

The study indicated that endocrine disruptors might disturb the precisely coordinated sequence of events underlying fertilization in several ways, i.e. the chemicals might evoke changes in swimming behavior at the wrong time and wrong place, hinder navigation of sperm towards the egg, and also might hamper the penetration into the protective egg coat.

What is Infertility?

New Lisa book

Infertility refers to the inability to have children. It can be divided into two broad categories – primary and secondary infertility. Primary infertility refers to the inability to ever have a child. Secondary infertility refers to those cases where people have had children but fail to conceive after that.

The reasons may be acquired, genetic or influenced by lifestyle. Infertility affects men and women all around the world and is the cause of many cultural and social stigmas.

The countries with the lowest rates of female infertility are in the South American continent. It is estimated that approximately 3 to 7% of all couples worldwide suffer from infertility. Infertility has increased since the 1980s and the rate increases in proportion with the age of men and women. 40% of all issues with infertility are diagnosed in men, an equal number in women, and 20% due to complications in both partners.

Acquired female infertility is spurred on by age, tobacco smoking, diabetes, STDs, body weight and eating disorders. The same account to male fertility with the addition of testicular factors, trauma and impotence.

Hormone Boost ‘May Help Infertility’

By Pippa Stephens Health reporter, BBC News “heartening”

A study shedding light on the way key hormones affect the brain could pave the way for new fertility treatments, researchers say

The Imperial College London team studied five women with hypothalamic amenorrhea – a condition common in athletes, which makes periods stop.

Stimulating the brain to make more of the hormone, kisspeptin, could boost fertility, they said.

While the study is small, they said it proved an interesting concept.

The scientists looked at kisspeptin and another reproductive hormone which is depleted in women with HA, disrupting the menstruation cycle, and potentially leading to infertility.

 Stress or anorexia

About one in 100 women in Britain, and one in 10 professional female athletes, have HA.

Alongside athletes, it is common in women under severe stress, or who have anorexia.

In those women, the hypothalamus – a part of the brain which regulates the menstrual cycle – stops producing hormones correctly.

The exact reason why is unknown.

The team studied two hormones made by the hypothalamus – kisspeptin and luteinising hormone (LH).

Kisspeptin sparks the release of LH in the brain, scientists said.

LH regulates women’s reproductive cycles. It is one of the hormones which helps prepare the womb for a fertilised egg.

If the amount of LH, along with other hormones, in the body drops, women can stop producing eggs, having periods.

As HA is associated with low levels of LH, the study said, it can cause infertility.

But HA is not as common a cause of infertility as polycystic ovaries, for example, said researchers.

Infertility Infusion treatment

Scientists gave five women with HA a drip containing different concentrations of kisspeptin during six eight-hour sessions.

baby tummyThey looked at women aged between 24 and 31 in the study, published in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism

Women were given changing concentrations of kisspeptin and their LH levels – alongside how often LH was released – were measured by taking blood samples every 10 minutes.

Comparisons were run with a previous control test, where the patients were given a placebo and measured in the same way.

Researchers said increasing levels of kisspeptin brought about a rise in the levels of LH and meant LH was released into the bloodstream more often.

They said kisspeptin could act on nerves to amplify the LH pulses.

Lead researcher Dr Channa Jayasena said it was a “small, concept study” and would need to be supported by larger studies to see the effect on fertility.

“We have shown that in the short term, IV [intravenous] infusions of kisspeptin at certain doses can restore the pulses of LH that are essential for female fertility,” he said.

‘Novel approach’ to fertility treatments

“The long-term aim is to determine whether kisspeptin could be used to treat certain forms of female infertility.

“If this is viable, it could provide an attractive and possibly less costly alternative to IVF.”

Dr Jane Stewart, at the Newcastle Fertility Centre for Life, said the study marked an “interesting and novel approach” to a relatively uncommon problem.

“It clearly needs further evaluation both in the effect demonstrated by this study and subsequently on the goal of ovulation induction and live birth in these women.”

Dr Stewart added: “It is heartening to see researchers are applying new knowledge to consider new treatments.”

Tips For Getting Pregnant

Tips For Getting Pregnant

Congratulations! So you have decided to take the big step into becoming a parent, and possibly need some tips for getting pregnant.

While it is one of the most important things a person can do in their life, it is also the most challenging and the first challenge is conceiving and then finding the causes of infertility if that is the case.

Many people assume that once they stop taking contraception they will immediately conceive, but our bodies are slightly more complicated than that and this guide on how to get pregnant will give you tips for getting pregnant fast, and the best methods and timing to get pregnant.

The first of the tips for getting pregnant when you make the decision to have a baby is to visit your gynecologist, as this is a vital step.

You will need a German measles vaccination if you haven’t had one already when you were younger, and to make sure you are receiving enough folic acid to prevent birth defects.

The gynaecologist will also answer any of your questions and will provide you with further tips for getting pregnant after miscarriage, or tips for getting pregnant after 40 years of age.

The Basic Tips For Getting Pregnant

The best time is dependent on your ovulation cycle, and your ovulation period lasts six days – the first five days before and leading up to the sixth day in which you ovulate.

Your ovulation period is usually midway between your menstrual cycle, – which for most women is about 14 days before the next period is due.

This is usually the best time to get pregnant, but if it doesn’t work for you, another helpful tip is to wait until days 10 and 18 of your cycle (day 1 as the first day of your period) and have intercourse every other day during this time.

This way, intercourse and ovulation are bound to coincide.

If you want to be more precise and exact, you can purchase an at-home ovulation prediction kit which uses your body temperature to determine whether you are ovulating.

It is said that when you are ovulating, your body temperature increases by 0.8 degrees, and these kits can give you warning from one to one and a half days in advance as to the best time to get pregnant.

A frequent concern for those who want to know the causes of infertility when trying to get pregnant is how often to try##

It is a fact that the more frequently a man ejaculates, the lower his sperm count becomes, so, those who are trying for a baby often have sex every few days to build this sperm count up, however, this isn’t necessary.

One of the best tips for getting pregnant is to enjoy the journey, and not to stress

Even though the sperm count may be lower, it is still high enough for pregnancy to occur, and the best tip is to make love when you want to, enjoy it and relax, DON’T MAKE IT A CHORE!!!

Remember that having a baby should be fun too, so try not to focus too much on how often and when, but of course those who are only having intercourse once a week will significantly lessen their chances.

If after a month or two you are still not pregnant, don’t panic!

If you were previously on the pill, it can take some time before your cycle is regularized which can delay the conception.

WARNING!! It may also be harder for smokers to get pregnant so if you are a smoker, another one of the tips for getting pregnant is to decrease or stop smoking altogether, for your health, and the health of the forthcoming baby.

Everyday Food May Be Keeping You From Becoming Pregnant.

  • Some Food Which May Harm Sperm

A man who eats bacon – could that be just one more reason why women are finding it difficult to become pregnant? New study says that bacon isn’t just unhealthy for your heart but eating just one piece of bacon daily can be detrimental to the fertility of a man. Researchers found that men who ate processed meat, like bacon, on a regular basis had notably reduced amounts of normal sperm. In addition to bacon, meats like hamburgers, sausages, mince and ham also had a negative impact.

On average, men who ate less than one piece of bacon a day had at least 30 percent more regular sperm as opposed to those who ate larger quantities of processed meats.

Each of the participants were questioned about their diet as it related to chicken, fish, beef and processed meat. The findings suggested that the men who consumed more than a half portion of bacon daily had significantly less “normal” sperm as opposed to those that didn’t.

While it is true that a healthy diet can improve fertility in males, it’s not clear whether or not specific foods can cause deterioration in the quality of sperm.

Fresh Food Is Always Best For Fertilityfruit and veges 2

The relationship between men’s fertility and diet is definitely interesting, as there is evidence that men who eat more fresh vegetables and fruit have a better sperm quality than those who don’t, but not as much is known about those with poor diets.

Unfortunately bacon, even outside of the negative effect it has on sperm, doesn’t have a lot of good nutritional value but it’s not all bad because it does have choline; which is good for the brain and has some monounsaturated fatty acids, which are also good for you.

More studies on this subject may be done in the future on a larger scale.

The study on whether or not bacon is the new birth control was presented at the American Society for Reproductive Medicine’s 2013 Annual Meeting in Boston.

Local Health Guide

From the Office of Research on Women’s Health

Here is a reprint of an article from the above magazine on Women’s Health…….

Infertility is the term health care providers use for women and men who are unable to get pregnant after at least 1 year of trying. Women who are able to get pregnant but who cannot carry a pregnancy to term (birth) may also be considered infertile.

Infertility is a complex problem–it does not have a single cause because getting pregnant is a multi-step chain of events.

The cause of infertility can rest in the woman or the man, or can be from unknown factors or a combination of factors.

A woman’s risk for infertility can also be affected by certain lifestyle and environmental factors, including:

Advancing age.baby 1
Poor diet.
Being overweight or underweight.
Smoking, drugs, and alcohol.
Environmental toxins.
Genetic conditions, such as being a carrier of Fragile X syndrome.
Other health problems, such as sexually transmitted infections.
Like female infertility, male infertility can result from physical problems, such as testes that do not make enough normal sperm or hormonal problems. Lifestyle or environmental factors also can cause infertility.

Examples of these factors include (but are not limited to) age, stress, and exposing the testes to high temperatures, which can affect the ability of the sperm to move and to fertilize an egg.

Most often, health care providers treat infertility with medication or surgical repair of the reproductive organs, artificial insemination, or in vitro fertilization.

A woman’s ovaries must be able to release a viable egg, which then must be able to travel down the fallopian tube.
The man must be able to ejaculate, and his sperm must be able to travel to the fallopian tube.
The sperm and egg must unite to fertilize the egg.
The fertilized egg must attach (or implant) to the inside of a receptive uterus and be nurtured by the body to allow the fetus to develop and grow until it is ready for birth.

Young Women Smokers Risk Infertility While Trying To Get Pregnant

Here we are again, trying to unscramble the many reasons why trying to get pregnant eludes so many women around the world today.pregnancy miracle review books

Puffing on a cigarette while trying to get pregnant is yet another reason, and the crazy thing is that many people believe smoking while trying to conceive helps them to relax, but in fact it has the opposite effect with heart beats increasing, and stress levels rising, and imagine the panic attacks when the cigarettes run out.

As smoking is such a world wide issue, and younger and younger people are taking up the habit one has to wonder when all the publicity shows that it is just harmful, why do we not heed warnings when there is not one positive aspect about smoking, and let’s not get into the cost, either monetary or the cost to your body ??.

This report is well worth reading if you are a smoker and trying to get pregnant.

The Dangers Of Smoking

While Trying To Get Pregnant

An alarming report printed in “THE TIMES OF INDIA” BANGALORE INDIA on 31st May 2012

Young women smokers risk infertility
Hetal Vyas, TNN May 31, 2012, 02.02AM IST

BANGALORE: Be it emotional burden, failed relationship, work stress or just peer pressure, women in the city want to blow it away with a puff of a cigarette.

It is believed that smoking is prevalent only amongst elite and highly educated women, but doctors in the city say that smoking is being considered fashionable amongst middle class women, especially in their 20s, and the effect of smoking while trying to conceive is yet to be discovered by them.

Oncologists and gynaecologists say that about 20% women in India are addicted to tobacco (chewing and smoking).

What is more threatening is the age group of women addicted to tobacco, which has come down significantly.

What are the smoking pros and cons, especially while trying to get pregnant, is there a positive one?

This also poses a threat to the fertility in women who are trying to get pregnant, say doctors.

“There has been a cultural shift in India.

More and more women are taking up smoking for various reasons and sometimes for no particular reason, which is even more sad of you are trying to get pregnant.

Today, many young girls see their mother or some elderly woman in the family smoking and take it up at young age.

Tobacco consumption can directly affect a woman’s fertility.

It also increases the risk of miscarriage,” says Dr Pratima Murthy, professor of psychiatry and head of the de-addiction department, Nimhans.

Explaining the effects of tobacco consumption, Dr Kamini Rao, chairman, Bangalore Assisted Reproductive Center, says: “The female to male relative risk ratio for smoking is about 25:1, thus it puts women at a higher risk while trying to get pregnant.

Nicotine in tobacco can directly affect the chromosome and lead to infertility.

smoking 2

It can be a reason behind premature labour and child’s quality of life may suffer if the mother is a smoker.

Child may also born mentally retarded.”

Says Dr Ganesh Vashishta, chief medical oncologist, BGS Global Hospitals: “In several awareness programmes I have addressed in the city, I have observed that around 25% of the audience were women in the age group of 20 -30 who were smokers.

The reasons quoted for smoking included work pressure, and also a belief that smoking would help them lose weight.

Though these educated young women are aware of the ill-effects of smoking, they believe that smoking 1-2 mild cigarettes is safe.

However this is not true, it can have the same ill-effects as the regular cigarettes as they take a deeper puff.”

“Smoking is the reason behind increase in cases of lung and cervical cancer amongst women. Not only does it harm the woman but also the child. Work-related stress has pushed many women to smoking, but they don’t know that smoking actually adds to stress and increases the risk of heart and kidney failure,” says Dr Gayathri Karthik, obstetrician and gynecologist, Manipal Hospital.

An alarming report printed in “THE TIMES OF INDIA” BANGALORE INDIA on 31st May 2012 as further evidence that women may be unwittingly contributing to their failure when trying to conceive whilst still of child-bearing age.

How tragic can this be as the simple addictive smoking habit can have this effect and result??

Why are we not surprised that stress and infertility go together, seeing that stress is a killer in so many areas of life? It can cause tension at work between colleagues when someone is uptight or in the home with your loved one. Surely totally stressed out people are not in control of their lives, and certainly are not enjoying the days that they are gifted with.
An interesting article in this week’s Courier Mail, a daily paper in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, summed it up when they printed
“Stressed women take longer to conceive and are at an increased risk of infertility.
A landmark US study published in the international ‘Human Reproduction’ journal is the first in the world to find an association between stress and infertility.
The study authors – who tracked hundreds of couples for 12 months as they tried to conceive – said they didn’t want to make hard-working women feel guilty if they were struggling to become pregnant.stressed lady 2

However they said the findings did suggest that women trying to conceive should reduce their stress levels through practices such as yoga and meditation if they were still struggling after six months.

Stress and Infertility as Explained by

Dr Molloy.

Queensland Fertility Group medical director Dr David Molloy said while the study showed a link between stress and infertility, it was unclear whether infertility caused stress or the other way around.

A failure to become pregnant did raise women’s stress levels but it was just one factor, he said.

Dr Molloy said women worried that their long hours and demanding jobs were contributing to their infertility would not necessarily be better off if they quit work.

He supported calls by the study’s authors to engage in yoga and meditation.”

Infertility Publications From Amazon

A selection of publications that are available and relevant to the subject of female infertility………….

Infertility affects one out of six couples today. Dr. Lewis presents a groundbreaking alternative approach to infertility, explaining how she used traditional Chinese medicine to treat her own infertility, successfully conceiving and giving birth to two children.

Marc Sedaka stood by while he and his wife endured endless rounds of drug therapies, sixteen artificial inseminations, ten in-vitro fertilizations, three miscarriages, and, finally, a gestational surrogate (“womb for rent”) who carried their twin girls to term. He was as supportive and loving as he could be, but he really wished he’d had a book like What He Can Expect When She’s Not Expecting during the process. Most books about dealing with infertility are geared toward women, leaving the man to his own devices

When the professional advice isn’t enough, and you’ve had your fill of well-meaning comments from those who haven’t experienced infertility, Marlo Schalesky wants you to know you are not alone. The true stories she tells of couples who share your hopes, fears, frustrations, and the comfort only God can bring will encourage your heart. Infertility strikes at the core of what it means to be a woman or man, tests marriages, and shakes faith. The honest, open, and emotionally resonant first-person stories in Empty Womb, Aching Heart will touch your life–as you “cry in the diaper aisle,” wonder if you “are less of a woman,” ask “How far should we go?” or whisper to God, “It’s not fair.”

Introducing the only clinically proven program—steeped in ancient Chinese healing traditions—that has enabled hundreds of infertile couples to conceive.

At Wu’s Healing Center in San Francisco, miracles are happening. Women and their partners come to the clinic—often from across the country– to fulfill a passionately held yet fragile dream: to conceive and deliver the healthy baby that mainstream doctors have told them they cannot have. Using traditional Chinese medical techniques, sometimes integrated with Western fertility treatments, Dr. Angela Wu is helping these couples experience the miracle of birth.

The second edition of this popular text systematically addresses all aspects of treatment of infertility using Chinese medicine. Clinically focused and with a new easy-to-navigate design, the book begins by covering all the essential fundamentals you will need to understand and treat infertility.

Have you ever cried in a restaurant bathroom because you got your period? • Do you feel like everyone on Facebook is pregnant but you? • Do you examine the toilet paper on a regular basis? • Do you have more fertility medication in your fridge than food? If you relaxed and it didn’t happen, this is the book for you! Based on the popular blog, 999 Reasons to Laugh at Infertility, this book explores the humorous side to making a baby. From early morning fertility appointments to getting mad at your husband because he took a business trip when you were ovulating, this inspirational book is a reminder to laugh through life’s challenges and to keep believing when your uterus says “I’ve had enough.”

Overcoming Fertility Problems In A Beautiful Unique Way.

fertility problemsIsn’t it amazing how sometimes when you read a book which you enjoy immensely, it stays with you, and ‘haunts’ your thoughts in a lovely way, thinking about and feeling part of the story for ages after, but that is the power of a great storyteller, and a theme about fertility problems which presses your buttons.

I have experienced that sensation lately, with a story about a couple who had been married for several years, had undergone the usual tests and nothing was found amiss with either of them, but falling pregnant was denied them, owing to their own fertility problems

As a child the woman had experienced a bad upbringing with a mother who had sent her out on the streets as a little girl to buy her drugs,  and had subsequently died –  but the woman was not keen to adopt, as not knowing who her father was, she hungered after a blood relative.

A Friend Overcoming Her Fertility Problems.

In the meantime their friends who had their own fertility problems had adopted a baby,  and were so unbelievably happy for 3 months with this precious bundle, but then the unimaginable happened, the parents of the child claimed it back as they were marrying, making this woman more determined than ever not to adopt.

As the months went on and her unexplained fertility hadn’t changed, she heard through a friend about a 14 year old who was pregnant, (who obviously had NO fertility problems) had had a similar upbringing to herself, and was just so angry at everyone and everything, because her heart needed to hear that someone loved her for who she was.

She belatedly moves into the apartment with this couple, with the proviso that when she delivered the baby they would keep it, (she had made it clear that she had no means of support, and wasn’t about to claim it as had happened to their friends), and she would just go on to her  ‘no life’ as before.

As the months progress and the women both attended clinics, scans etc, the older woman had trouble getting close to this teenager, so there was always this invisible wall between them.

On night after the girl hears a conversation through the bedroom door of the couple, which was not complimentary to her, she packs up her things, gets her meagre  savings together, (some of the money which she had previously stolen) and takes off to sleep in a boat moored in the harbor, belonging to a friend,  (which they had previously experienced a wonderful day out in.

Tragically, while she was walking along the docks in the dead of night, she was mugged and finished up in hospital.

Life resumed back to how it was in the apartment, with the bruises healing, but not her battered heart, as the woman only seemed to concentrate on the forthcoming baby, making the young girl feel that all she was, was a vehicle to produce their baby, and she could soon leave.

However a few weeks before her due date she suffers acute pain in the stomach, feeling guilty, and blaming it onto the fact that the two women had just had a blow up and she had ranted about wishing the baby wasn’t there, and how she hated it.

It soon became obvious that she was in labor with water escaping, so off they hurry into the hospital, but when she revealed that the baby hadn’t moved for 2 days, and they could see the color of the leaking water, all hopes were dashed, knowing that the little one was dead.

A caesarian was performed immediately and this beautifully formed but lifeless little baby girl was brought into the world.

She was wrapped up, named and they all spent time with her, before handing her over to the undertakers.

A fulfilling way to overcoming her fertility problems

It was at this momentous point in time that the woman who had gone through so much with this troubled teen realized just how much she had come to love her, just for herself, and didn’t want to part with her.

In time they adopt her for their own, and have the child that they had longed for despite their fertility problems.

The book finished up with 3 years having passed, –  the family excitedly looking through the new house they had just bought, the now 17yr old girl surveying her own bedroom, plus the joy of 2 year old twins running through the home with her, (who also had been adopted).

The last word is left to the Mother of these 3 fortunate children, “This wasn’t how the story was supposed to be, …… so we just had to write another story”.

In closing, this is just a novel, but I would suspect this story has taken place in many homes where fertility problems and solutions  seem very hard to overcome, around this vast world, and will continue to do so. There are so many facets in fertility problems in men, fertility problems after miscarriage, or even fertility problems after first child.

Maybe adoption can be an answer for you as it was for us many years ago when we adopted a 3 month old boy, who now is a father long since himself. Perhaps you have had to write a different story to the one you dreamed of from a little girl, which can make life quite interesting at times, and as with bringing up any child there are highs and lows, but in the end it is all worth it.

Also you should download one of these excellent books which will have lots of hints and tips on ancient pregnancy cures, which you can find on these pages, which heaps of women have already and maybe give you the answers to why your body acts in the way it does, and you will thank me for it later.!!!!

Bless you in your endeavors, and may your baby be a reality when you overcome your fertility problems!!

Tips For Getting Pregnant?

Before deciding on visiting an infertility clinic or fertility specialist, and accumulating their precious tips for getting pregnant fast, give yourself a chance for perhaps a year or more to conceive, as there could be many temporary reasons for not conceiving, but newly married couples may be disappointed when conception doesn’t take place immediately.

In some women, their body needs time to adjust to being married, and the longer pregnancy eludes a couple, the more anxious they may be getting, which can further reduce their chances of pregnancy, so after a year of doing everything possible and no pregnancy occurs, an appointment with an expert on tips for getting pregnant, could be the answer to your hopes.

The Causes Of Infertility And Tips For Getting Pregnant

There are a number of reasons why a woman cannot conceive and whilst some of those reasons are easy to correct, some are not, therefore the gamut of problems runs from simply being overweight, to having many cysts on the ovaries to having a uterus that is tilted backward.

Any of these issues can be addressed before looking at infertility treatments as there are many causes of infertility  in between these examples  whilst infertility may be reversed by medication that brings hormones into the correct balance, but it may also involve surgery.
Overweight women often find that they can be trying to get pregnant for years without success, and unfortunately do not become pregnant because their bodies make too much estrogen, and when estrogen is continuously high, it will cause a hormonal imbalance and interfere with the ovulation cycle and therefore prevent pregnancy in the way some birth control pills will.

The simple answer in this case is weight reduction.

Should the diagnosis be of an anatomical defect or an anomaly in the body, this must be corrected surgically, but your gynaecologist will enlighten you on any of these matters, and guide you through any procedure.

Relaxation methods are highly recommended when there are not any physical problems found for the causes of infertility in your lives, or infertility treatment doesn’t appear to be working, so in summing up the less tense you both are together, enjoy your love making, not just viewing it to produce a child, enjoy spending special and happy times together, because, you know what, the relaxation part will all just disappear when baby comes on the scene.

Here is an excellent book by Sophia David who understands everything you are going through right now, as she has been down the rocky road to be able to have children , so is well equipped to be able to help and guide you through the way for you to hold your very own baby in your arms. Click on the book to buy and get reading and doing what is required for your body to conceive without losing another day.

Many blessings for you both as you travel the path to success.

A Beautiful Way To Look At Food On The Table

food on the table

This Is God’s Pharmacy!!!

Hey there, thought I would pass this bit of information on, by way of a blog, as I found this to be a great secret with our food on the table,  which we eat, (and sometimes choose not to). Hope you love it too, so here goes.

“It’s been said that God first separated the salt water from the fresh, made dry land, planted a garden, made animals and fish…All before making a human. He made and provided the food on the table, as a premium, and what we’d need before we were born. These are best and more powerful when eaten raw, but we’re such slow learners

Do not overlook putting

 this food on the table

A sliced carrot looks like the human eye…The pupil, iris and radiating lines look just like the human eye…and YES, science now shows carrots greatly enhance blood flow to and function of the eyes.

A tomato has four chambers and is red. The heart tomatoeshas four chambers and is red. All of the research shows tomatoes are loaded with lycopine and are indeed pure heart and blood food.

Grapes hang in a cluster that has the shape of the heart… Each grape looks like a blood cell and all of the research today shows grapes are also profound heart and blood vitalizing food.

A walnut looks like a little brain, awalnut left and right hemisphere, upper cerebrums and lower cerebellums. Even the wrinkles or folds on the nut are just like the neo-cortex. We now know walnuts help develop more than three (3) dozen neuron-transmitters for brain function.

Kidney beans actually heal and help maintain kidney function, and yes, they look exactly like the human kidneys.

Celery, bokchoy, rhubarb and many more look just like bones. These foods specifically target bone strength. Bones are 23% sodium and these foods are 23%fruit and veges 2 sodium. If you don’t have enough sodium in your diet, the body pulls it from the bones, thus making them weak. These foods replenish the skeletal needs of the body.

Avocados, eggplant and pears target the health and function of the womb and cervix of the female – they look just like these organs. Today’s research shows that when a woman eats one avocado a week, it balances hormones, sheds unwanted birth weight, and prevents cervical cancers. And how profound is this? It takes exactly nine (9) months to grow an avocado from blossom to ripen fruit, and there are over 14,000 photolytic chemical constituents of nutrition in each one of these foods (modern science has only studied and named about 141 of them).

Figs are full of seeds and hang in two’s when tfigshey grow. Figs increase the mobility of male sperm and increase the numbers of sperm as well to overcome male sterility.

Sweet potatoes look like pancreas and actually balance the glycemic index of diabetics.

Olives assist the health and function of the ovaries.

Oranges, grapefruits and other citrus fruits look just like the mammary glands of the female, and actually assist the health of the breasts and the movement of lymph in and out of the breasts.

Onions look like the body’s cells. Today’s research shows onions help clear waste materials from all of the bodies cells. They even produce tears which wash thonions and garlice epithelial layers of the eyes. A working companion, garlic, also helps eliminate waste materials and dangerous free radicals from the body.”

Well, I hope that that was an amazing jaw dropping bit of information about some of the everyday food on the table which we consume and not give too much thought about. Some of this food on the table in your house will never be seen in the same light again, and hopefully putting food on the table will always be a fulfilling task!
